Tribute to Medicine
Conversation with
Dorianne Laux
Releasing December 1997, issue #8 pays tribute to William Carlos Williams and a dozen other doctor-poets. This is the first tribute Rattle ever published, intended to honor the fact that none of us are poets-only–everyone has a day job, but that doesn’t mean that poetry shouldn’t be an integral part of our lives.
Also in the issue, Alan Fox interviews Dorianne Laux. In the essay section, John Bennetts writes about reading Shakespeare, and Colette Inez shares a modest proposal for saving the world through poetry.
