YELLOW
Yellow’s a smiley-face and a big banana,
a honey-suckle vine and a crayon diorama.
Yellow’s a big ol’ pile of hay.
Yellow’s a happy, happy day.
Yellow’s a smile, a toothy grin.
Yellow’s a medal an athlete would win.
Yellow’s a crayon box and a brand new pencil,
yellow’s a happy-face circle stencil.
Yellow’s a bright-colored party balloon,
yellow’s a person whistling a tune.

__________
Why do you like to write poetry?
Phoebe Fischer: “I like to write poetry because I can express my feelings in a beautiful language. Poetry is an art: It can paint a picture in your mind. Poems are beautiful things.”
